Q: How do I sign up?
A: Eligible full-time partners can visit the Alight benefits enrollment platform to make their benefit elections for plan year 2026.
- Open enrollment for the 2026 plan year starts November 3rd goes through November 14th

Q: I like the benefits I have and do not want to make changes for plan year 2026. Do I need to take any action for open enrollment?
A: Full-time partners who are already enrolled in Petco’s 2025 benefits will have their current elections automatically carry over into the next plan year, with the exception of spending accounts.
Important: You must re-enroll in spending accounts each year for these benefits to continue in the new plan year.
Q: As a new hire do I need to do anything different?

A: Yes, new hires who are hired from November 3rd through January 31st will have dual enrollment during their new hire event in Alight. You will elect 2025-year benefits and after finalizing those, you will be asked to complete enrollment elections for 2026.

Q: When enrolling a new dependent, will verification be required?
A: Yes. Verification will be required for spouses, dependents and domestic partners you will be. Required documentation must be submitted to Alight and approvals will occur within 30-days. Exact details of the required documentation will be provided to you by Alight benefits enrollment portal when you add a new dependent.
Important: If proof of verification is not submitted within 30 days or if you receive a verification denial, the dependent’s coverage will be terminated from the plan.

A: Locate a Kaiser provider by calling your local office or visit https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/doctors-locations.

Q: Will I receive a new insurance card?
A: Only participants in the UMR-United Healthcare plans will receive new insurance cards mailed in January 2026. Current Kaiser participants will not.
Q: Will there be changes to our health plans for the next plan year?
A: Yes, please refer below for changes. If you have specific questions, please email benefits@petco.com.
Changes for 2026 plan are as follows:
- New Vision Plan - XP Health
- New carrier for Life and AD&D for hourly partners – Aflac visit the resource hub for additional plan information https://learn.aflac.com/petco
- New carrier for Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital Indemnity – Aflac
- Expanded Teladoc services – Those enrolled in our UMR-United Healthcare plans will have 100% covered visits for:
- Primary care visit
- Acute Care
- Behavioral Health
- Dermatology
- Midi Health - Those enrolled in our UMR-United health care plans will have access to Midi health covered under specialty visits.
- Carrum Health – Starting in 2026 UMR-United Healthcare plan participants are required to go through the plan’s Carrum health benefit for total hip/knee replacement, spine and bariatric procedures. This ensures you receive high-quality care at lower or not additional cost to you. Important: Your surgery will not be covered by Petco’s insurance plan if you get one of these surgeries outside of Carrum.
- UMR-UHC Enhanced plan design will experience a change in the deductible:
- Individual deductible $1,000
- Family deductible $2,000
- UMR-UHC copay for emergency room services will change:
- Enhanced plan $350 copay + 20% coinsurance
- HSA plan $350 copay + 20% coinsurance
- Value plan $350 copay + 20% coinsurance
- Petco match for eligible HSA participants in the Kaiser or UMR-UHC plan will increase:
- Individual $500
- Family $1,000
Q. Will there be any plan design changes to the Kaiser plans?
A. Yes, please refer below for changes:
- No changes will be made to the Kaiser Enhanced or Value plans
- The Kaiser HSA (California only) plan family deductible for individuals to meet will be $3,400.

A: Petco covers all costs including pre-Op, post-Op, physician fee, facility fee, professional fees, prescriptions and even travel expenses to the surgical center of excellence.

Q. How do I know which medications are covered under the CapitalRx PBM?
A: CapitalRx publishes a drug formulary listing medications that are covered/excluded by our plan. Click here to review the Petco Flex Liberty Drug Formulary.
Q: Are GLP-1s covered on the drug formulary?
A: No, GLP-1 medications are not currently a covered drug category. However, alternative medications to GLP-1s are available and covered under the plan.

A: To determine the cost of your medication you can either look up the cost by accessing the CapitalRx Medication Coverage & Pricing Tool or you can call CapitalRx to speak with my pharmacy representative at 833-463-1593.
Q: How do I fill a mail order or specialty prescription?
A: Costco is our mail order pharmacy partner. You can enroll in mail order home delivery by visiting pharmacy.costco.com

Q: Does Petco offer free virtual telemedicine visits?
A: Yes. Partners and their dependents enrolled in Petco plans have access to free telemedicine visits.
- All UMR-UHC participants can schedule an acute care or behavior health visit 24hrs a day, 7 days a week for FREE (no copay or deductible).
- Kaiser participants have free telemedicine visits but those participating in the Kaiser HSA must first meet the plan deductible.
Q: Does Petco offer mental health benefits?
A: Yes! We know that caring for your health goes beyond visits to the doctor, and we offer mental health resources, such as our robust Employee Assistance Program (EAP), free to all Petco Partners regardless of eligibility or plan participation. Through Supporlinc our EAP, partners can access a wide range of tool kits, resources, and services covering topics from mental health to stress management and relationships, offering up to five virtual or in-person counseling sessions per issue, per plan year.

Q: If I have a Flexible (FSA) or Dependent (DCFSA) do I need to re-enroll in it for the next year?
A: Yes, if you want to participate in a savings account for 2026 you must re-enroll in the account and select your annual contribution.
Q: Will the Dependent Childcare Flexible Spending Account (DFSA) limits change for the next plan year?
A: Yes, the annual allowable contribution per household is $7,500.
Q: Will the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) limits change for the next plan year?
A: Yes, the annual allowable maximum for 2026 is $3,400. The allowable rollover amount will not exceed $680.
Important: You must re-enroll in your FSA benefit to use funds and rollover amounts.
Q: Will Petco continue to fund Health Savings Accounts for those participating in a UMR-UHC HSA or Kaiser HSA?
A: Petco will continue to match contributions to Health Spending Accounts. You must contribute to your health savings account through payroll deduction to receive the match – at least $100 annually if you cover just yourself, or $200 if you cover any dependents. If you contribute after the open enrollment period, your match amount will be prorated. You must complete a one-time ID verification to receive the match.
Q: Will the Health Savings Account (HSA) limits change for the next plan year?
A: Yes, the IRS annual allowable maximum for 2026 plan year is up to $4,300 for employee only coverage. For employee plus one or more dependents the annual allowable $8,550. Plus, an additional $1,000 catch-up contribution for ages 55+.
Q: Does Petco offer fertility benefits and where can I get additional information?
A: Participants in the UMR-UHC plan will have a $5,000 annual benefit maximum available for medical and/or prescription benefits.

Q: Does Petco offer an Adoption Benefit?
A: Yes. Adoption benefits are available to Petco partners with a lifetime maximum of $5,000.
Q: Does the Petco medical plan provide coverage for vasectomies?
A: Yes, the UMR-UHC and Kaiser medical plans do coverage vasectomies with a coinsurance. Additional information can be obtained at:
